Praise the Lord I finally gave birth to that child!!!!! LOL I know, you will all miss me whining about my sinus infections and colds!!
Jacob James Brannon came zooming and screaming into the world at 11:39 am yesterday, March 23. 5 lbs. 15 oz., 19-1/4" long, lots of dark hair (that was supposed to be his sister's hair!) and of course cute as can be.
I started feeling ALOT of discomfort and pain Thursday night around 10:30, but it wasn't really contractions at that point. Slept for about an hour and woke up to real contractions. We decided to call my sister to come over and stay with Ellie and Jason around 1:30. The contractions were really bad when we checked into the hospital, I was dilated to 4 and 80% effaced. So, they gave me an epidural almost as soon as I got into my room. Of course, labor pretty much stopped, contractions got further apart. Even though I was only 36 weeks I guess they figured I had come far enough and so they broke my water and hooked me up to good old pitocen (sp?). I started pushing at 11:15 am . . . four good contractions later he came screaming out at 11:39!! I could almost be talked into another baby with a delivery like that! Just kidding.
Jake is doing great. They kept him in the nursery last night just to keep an eye on him since he was early. He's done great today and been with me all day. I just took a little break to walk around (going slightly stir crazy in my room) and stumbled upon the room with computers!! So, thought I'd give my update.
We are going home in the morning. Jason didn't have school on Friday so he was here at the hospital when I delivered. He was pretty good with him, tickled him and stuff. ;D He was a little more touch and go with him today, would get growly when Jake fussed. Miss Ellie . . . well, she just wanted to grab him and hold him like she does her baby doll. I'm thinking we're going to have a little mother hen with her.
Sigh . . . another delivery behind us (been a big week - IEP meeting done and delivered a baby - LMAO) ;D ;D
Now daddy-o just needs to go in for a little clipping . . . LOL Now THAT'S going to be a big event . . .
