Ok, I've been a little busy lately and haven't had time to read or respond as much as usual. I can't believe life here is actually going on without me! LMAO
But, I wanted to share a couple of things that Jason has done this week. First, Sunday night at dinner he actually voluntarily gave his sister some of his french fries. Ok, that's huge. French fries to Jason is like a new Coach purse to me! LOL And to give the fries to sissy was really the astounding part of it all.
Yesterday, he had a dentist appointment to get his front tooth fixed that had chipped quite a while ago. Although we had the assistance of drugs, he did really well and we were very proud of him. We did not like how he was on the relaxant though - ugh. Poor thing was so out of it on the ride home, yet we think he was feeling the "coming down" effect of the medicine because he started crying for no reason. He is not a crier so we knew he must have been feeling really bad. He came home and slept it off and was much better by dinner time.
And, lastly, he and I went to the store today to get a few groceries and so he could spend some of his money that's been burning a hole in his pocket. He had $72 with him. He picked out three things to buy and when we got up to the counter I added the items up and told him it should be right around $45. I continued to put my groceries on the counter while he got out his wallet and was digging through his money. He put his wallet away and showed me what he kept out . . . $45!!!! I was shocked. I know they have been working on money in school but I really had no idea that he was able to figure out what he needed to that extent. Maybe it was a fluke, I don't know. But, I was pretty amazed and couldn't wait to tell his dad. He was so excited by the whole process of picking out what he wanted, carrying his treasures through the store, conducting the transacation with the cashier (bonus that it was a little less than $45 so he got change back), and carried his bags to the car. He loved it!
Quick update on baby Jake. My tiny little man gained 5 ounces this week. I'm so excited, he took awhile to start eating and I was pretty worried about him. But, he's doing really well now and I'm not so worried about him. He's still not back up to his birth weight but he's close. He needs to gain some pounds so I can squeeze him!
Miss Ellie had to go to the doctor today too for immunizations - ugh. She was so happy and trusting all morning and all throughout her check up and then BAM she gets stuck 3 times. Very sad. But, she's doing well too and seems to have recovered from the trauma. Ok, so maybe it was more traumatic for me and dad to have to see her face when she feels that first shot!
That's all for now . . . lots of reading to catch up on!
