samantha had her first checkup today. they did not clean her teeth. the dentist told me when we schedule the cleaning to make sure that she has a antibodies for the heart . samantha did good. she fought a little bit. i took my camera and i had dead batteries. they had a dinosours with large teeth ( stuffed animal) for samantha to learn to clean teeth and floss. the floss did not go over at all. no cavities though. the doctor said she has 4 teeth (permnant ones that are not there. missing teeth. the doctor said her bite was really great. he said her oral hyngene was very good. he said samantha did not need a cleaning . we go back in 6 months. her eye appointment was latter this afternoon and she was pretty good girl. he is sending us to a eye clinic in childrenss in five months to talk about getting her tear ducts probed and may have to have surgery on her eys they roll. sue

I DREAD taking Nicholas to the dentist. Brushing his teeth is an ordeal every time.
Does she have all her baby teeth? Just wondering, since you said there were 4 missing permenant teeth.
Glad she did good for you!

i think that 2 of her baby teeth are missing . i thought it was weird! i was surprized that she really did well at the dentist office. well i had to help them hold samantha so they could get the x rays of her teeth. the dental hygentist told the dentist that i was a great help. the dentist asked me if i would like to work there after he heard what she said . i think he was beening nice. lol. sometimes i think i could. sue

All I have to say is that you are one mighty brave woman - tackling a dentist AND eye appointment in the same day! I think you are the trooper in this one!

Well, you can now say that is all under your belt! I think you are brave too! I know how Russell is at the eye doc so I don't think i'd do the dentist the same day! But.. the flip side is it's all done at once! A.

Does anybody have a link to referral services for dentists - nationwide, or AZ if anybody knows someone here. My family dentist is great, but I'd prefer a specialist of some sort, even a cool kid dentist, KWIM? Luckily we've had two awesome ear and eye exams - gotta cross teeth off the list next! Please, Let the Grinding End!! Thanks everyone! Hope SamanthaJo's eye issues resolve and everything goes okay

Sue, you know, she may have a bit of Blepharitis if her eyes get like that and need her ducts probed, ect.. Russell has it and it was really bad when he was younger too. You might want to try to use warm water/wash cloth and wash her eyes 3-5 times a day... it helps! Russell's Blepharitis doesn't act up much anymore.. but it does look alot like pink eye at times but isn't. We thought he was getting pink eye weekly until our doc said nope..... we also take stock in eye drops.. always LOL

well yesterday i took samanths jo to childrens for her new eye appointment and they have scheduled her tear duct peobing and they are going to also check her eyes when she is sleeping. samantha was a little hostile towards the whole day for the eye appointment. she is tired of doctors right now. he is saying he thinks she has also blepharitis with the closing tear ducts and cross eying now. they may do surgery on that when probing her tear ducts .they are not sure at this point in time. she is to have this done sept 16 i think it is. sue
