Hello all!!
We are ALL back and in one piece!!! Thank you GOD!!!
Let me just start out telling you how our vacation started out....
First we left and drove straight through only stopping at a rest stop to take a couple hours nap (man mini vans are uncomfortable and my old body is not meant to sleep in positions like that!!!). When we arrived we went down to the beach, I missed one of my own children with sunscreen so he got a little red on our first over cast day!!
That evening, I went to to grocery/liquor store bought some food and rum. For those of you who know me you know I don't drink but thought one drink can't hurt (LOL...Silly me). We were vacationing with about 10 other families and I had 4-5 extra kids in my room. Well I went to look for one of them who was only 15 months old, I peeked in one bed room and took note of the blond heads on the bed and went on to find the baby. About 5-10 minutes later we get a knock on the door. There stands a lady from 4 floors down (not a part of our group) with Collin in tow!!!
He had decided he wanted to go play football with this brother in the court yard!!! Then he couldn't find his way back. He did however go to the same exact condo as ours only 4 floors down (so he was paying attention just not to what floor we were on!!)
The first words out of his mouth as he covers his bottom is "I sorry mommy, I sorry" He kept saying over and over!! I could not close the door fast enough to get to his bottom!!! He got his bottom spanked for not telling us he was leaving the room and sat in the corner!! He didn't try to leave the room with out permission the rest of the trip
The next evening Michael and I were getting cleaned up and Gray was down playing football with friends. Well, a few parents decided to go to the beach and he followed. Micheal said he saw him down there playing in the surf with the rest of the kids and I didn't think twice about it...15 minutes later one of the young girls comes screaming up to our room screaming that Gray and went under and they couldn't find him the under tow was terrible!!
Both Michael and I went running down and all I could do is stop and pray!! 3 adult men went in after him, a ER doc, a paramedic and a bystander. It took a woman that was with us (a lifeguard) to save him. She said that he never went under the water and the only thing that saved him was he stayed very calm and did everything she said!!! He had worn mesh sweat pants down, a wave knocked him down and when he got up the undertow started pulling him out to sea!!!
We were all SAFE!!
Others took their kids to an amazement area to go bungee jumping...I said NO THANK YOU...we've used our good luck up for this trip!!
Good to be back!!!
