OMGoodness, our poor dog was Skunked last night when I let him out in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. He's old so he can't hold it all night anymore so imagine how thrilled and special I felt when I opened the door to let him back in and realized quickly he had been skunked and slammed the door shut in his face! It was NOT a pretty night at our house last night. I did not have tomato juice but I did have two jars of tomatoes and seeing as I could NOT convince him to get in the shower no way no how, there I was outside smashing tomatoes onto him and trying not to throw up and btw...do you know how cold out it was? He must have been bitten also because he had a bite on his foot, geez can you tell he is Chase's dog? Only he would things this hard. I ended up locking him in Zach's room (Zach was in my room) and then in the morning went on line and found then answer to many peoples dreams...so if you have a dog that may EVER get skunked you need this recipe 1 quart peroxide 1/4 cup baking soda 2tbls dawn dish soap mix it up and wash the dog well and leave it on for ten to fifteen minutes. I did one better, I shaved that bugger first so the hair was gone and THEN put it on him. He is one sweet smelling dog today, cant say the same for the house...how long do you think it takes to get the smell out of a house? ? Febreeze yankee candles, bath&body plug ins nothing has helped, can you say eewwwww. Only Chase doesn't complain bless his heart but then he was hugging the dog before his bath!!!!! Now that is unconditional love! hugs, Robin

Oh, my! What a visual concept I have of the smelly dog, the smashed tomatoes and the odor that seems to NEVER leave. I just became very appreciative of the fact that we are no where near skunk territory.

::)ROFL...now see, that is why I come here, just to feel all the compassion you guys have for what I went thru with poor old Bailey and his skunky butt! what would I do without you guys?? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Char.....ROFL, skunky pieces of chunky tomatoes on Zach's floor?? LOLOL, not! Those are outside laying on the ground in front of the porch, where I did it in the freezing cold. I then poured a gallon of vinegar over him thinking that would 1. help cut the skunk perfume and 2. rinse off the skunky chunks but all it did i think was burn his bite! I am so happy to say that today after all the yankee candles I burned last night (home sweet home scent, cant get any better) and the bath and body plug ins (cinnamon) I used and the febreeze the smell is mostly gone as long as you don't walk into Zach's room and he is feeling very special about that LOL, now to get the weather to cooperate so I can air out his room! Three inches of SNOW expected today and tomorrow! hugs and thanks for all the love I feel, lol, btw...I think Bailey kind of looks like an over fed pink baby pig!!!! Robin
