JT had a big week of accomplishments! Some may seem mighty tiny to some, but big to those of us who live with him!
*first swim lesson after the bad experience last spring, he threw a tantrum, which I'd never seen from him before. Once he realized that I was going swimming with him this time, all was fine in the world. (Swim lessons this time are in an adaptive warm pool with a PT instructing)
*JT is now standing to use the potty. It was quite a process before when he sat, he needed his shoes, socks and pants off....who knows why..... but hey he's potty trained!
*He started Miracle League Baseball Sat. a.m. He was assigned a male college faternity brother as his buddy, which he quickly discarded for a far prettier soriety sister. Luckily no one had hurt feelings, and all is fine in the world once again.
*We spent the day in Louisiville KY yesterday for "Thunder over Louisville" the kick off to the KY Derby. Also a huge airshow and the 2nd biggest firework display in the country. Totally, Totally AWESOME. If you ever have the chance to see the fireworks, do it, once in a lifetime, I tell ya! Anyhow, we had VP seats because of a military connection. I was gettng really worried how JT would handle being that close to three displays going off all at the same time. He hates fireworks, I know Mother of the year down the drain for taking him, BUT he did really really well. The first firework looked like a rainbow, so we sang one of his favorite Signing Times songs about colors of the rainbows, did a lot of cheering and clapping and dancing and he made it through with flying colors. I was very impressed with him and the fireworks!
*Last but not least, he has figured out how to unlock door handle locks....sigh. We've had alarms on the doors, but new this weekend are deadbolts way up high and door knob covers. Fine motor skills with OT are really paying off, LOL.
What's new and approved with your kiddos this week?
