I have been a special mom for my very special baby since last eigth years of my parantal life. Samiya is my name & Sahir is my son who has got the God's mystery, Down Syndrome. Nobody actually has told me abt this site. Luckily I found myself here oneday. I always grant everything as God's wish...so with this too.
I am a Bengali girl living on the eastern side of the world named as Bangladesh which falls into the Asian horizon. Me and my hubby, Omar Shareef (not that hollywood actor ofcourse!), are blessed with this Angel of God, Sahir accompanying a three years old sister Angel Zaynab.
On this mysterious venture, though everything was not so smooth & easy for us, but we are still exploring every step of it...we are honored to b a part of this journey...Thanks to God!
Though I m li'l late to catch u, but not lost yet I believe!!! So can I join the travel with u guys??!

Sams, Its wonderful that you found this site! We would love hearing more about your family. I have a little guy named Eric who will be 7 years old this month. I also have 3 grown children and grandchildren. Eric is the connecting thread for all of us...we love him to pieces! Our adventure is not smooth either, but it has been a joy to have this special child in our lives. Again, Welcome!

Welcome, Samiya. I think we all would be pleased and honored for you to join our discussions. I don't think Uno Land has any physical borders. Hope not. Funny about your husband's name. There was recently discussion on a couple of other sites about celebrities connected to Down syndrome. Omar Sharif did not come up, different spelling I guess. Don't know of any organizations in Bangladesh. Are you familiar with this group in India? www.downsyndrome.in/main.htmlCheers, Bob

Samiya your description of a journey is so well written. This site is new for me too. I am from Las Vegas, Nevada and I also found UNO MAS without really looking for it. God has sent us through this journey and it feels good to know that others that are in the same journey. My Adan is 10 mths old and he has already taught me true unconditional love.
