Hi All...just returned from Austin where all my kids and grandkids gathered at Katie's house for a few hot days (13 of us including a very pg Jessica).
Everyone got along and we had lots of fun. Best times were spent in the neighborhood pool!!!
We talked Ed out of his many years desire of going to see the bats that live under the bridge there...he even found a dinner cruise we could go on to view...at... a mere $40.00 a person! He finally toned down his pleas to do this when he read a bat review...."be sure to take an umbrella....and we don't mean for the rain"....LOL.
Anyhow Katie and I began the chore of clothing for Em for the NDSC yesterday before we left. She is sooo hard to fit. She has NO waist but big everything else so none of her pants ever fit at the waist. We did find one brand that is that nice wrinkly cotton and gathered all around the waist without looking old person frumpy...but...not in her size . I think we might be able to order a pair or two so looking into it.
We did find a couple of fun skirts and tops...the main problem being that the slinky skirts and slinky tops are not a good mix for her cuz when you dance those tops creep up to around or above the waist...so think we did find one that was more a sweater type knit that might work...but...still have a ways to go.
I am not unlike the moms of younger kids who like their children to look their best at these...it is very important that Em look as good as she can...but it has become a challenge in the past few years.
She is almost at the 10 lb mark for WW...she still has some learning to do...like...a salad is not always the best choice when you put bleu cheese dressing on it...LOL...but she is sticking to her plan really well. Not a single cheeseburger or fry the whole weekend and she had several challenging meals out.
Our biggest dillema now is...shoes. I thought we could waltz back into Penneys and just rebuy the two pairs of nice sandals that fit her so well and that we have bought for years...but...NO ...now they are not carrying them anymore. Em has a bunion which makes good fit important for comfort. We just never seem to find the two months they say it will take to repair this for her. So now think we might be faced with checking out an SAS store which I am sure will be total frump
But maybe not........Katie says they have a new DSW going in close to them.
I also got to go with her to her art program...which is in the most beautiful setting in the woods...its at a place called Laguna Gloria and is next to a nature reserve. There was a gorgeous peathingy out in the road preening itself in the chome of a BMW parked on the street.
