I posted about 3 1/2 months ago, prayers for the new baby in Colorado... well, he still hasn't left the hospital, and has undergone many procedures, including placing a G-tube, and most recently, surgery to repair a complete A/V Canal defect. He came through the open heart surgery (about 10 days ago) quite well, but has now developed pneumonia in his right lung. He was dealing with severe hypertension prior to surgery, and doctors were hopeful that the heart repair would have a domino effect on the hypertension, but he has not been able to come off of the ventilator for any length of time. His parents, (mother having been at Ronald McD House since his birth) are devastated and frustrated with the roller coaster he's been on. It has been a rough, rough road. I know some of you have been there, too. It would be so appreciated to send out some prayers for strength and encouragement, both for baby Ian and his mom and dad, Tammy and Fred. There are two older children as well, who have been sent to live with an uncle and family out of state, for a time, and they are going through a variety of feelings as well, as they are only 4 and 6.
Thanks, everyone.

Oh my gosh, that is so heartbreaking they are having to go through this. Also for the other two kids, that's got to be so hard on everyone.
Hoping and praying Ian can pull through and get well very soon.

Well these people are certainly in my prayers...this has got to be a very hard situation...and separation from their other children must be terrible.
Do they have a support system? I have friends who live in the area.

Sending lots of hugs and prayers from Ohio. I know how trying this time can be. Just ask them not to give up hope and faith.....it pulled us through.

Thank you everyone... I do not have an update as of now. I have called to check in, and they aren't answering, and I'm sure they're under lots of stress. I remember just not feeling like talking to anyone sometimes, and Cole was never this sick. I will post up if I hear any good news.
Molly's mama -- We live in Northern Colorado, our family in Berthoud and Ian's family 10 min. away in Loveland. They are at Children's Hospital in Denver now, though. It is a beautiful place to live and visit, although it is quite hot right now! But little humidity by any standards, but especially for what you're used to!
Thanks again.

Denver Childrens is a marvelous place. Years ago Emily had her Hirschprungs surgery there and the stay was terrific. Our life long best friend is a pediatric anesthesiologist there.
I am sure they are getting excellent care.
I still am praying for them.

I just got a brief update from Ian's grandpa...
He is off of the ventilator and doing a little better, however, his lungs remain a concern for the doctors. His heart repair continues to look very successful, but he is still on high-flow oxygen and they will not send him home as long as he is. I don't know much else, but thank you all for the prayers. They certainly comforted the family, and seemed to make a difference in his progress.
Thanks again, on behalf of the family.
