We haven't even started school and Jason is still in Montana, yet the games have begun!
Got a call yesterday from the bus driver letting us know Jason's pick up and drop off times. His bus driver is the woman that drove a couple of years ago . . . the one that would LET HIM throw his shoes into the stairwell of the bus (and subsequently out the window), the one that LAUGHED and thought it was funny when the kids did someting naughty (until Jason threw a stone on the bus and was kicked off for a day). Not sure why he's not with the same driver he has had since we made the switch a couple of years ago. He knows there is no messing around on the bus when he rides Bob's bus. Now, we are back to wacky lady.
Granted, Jason has matured in the last couple of years and he should understand the rules of the bus now, but I'm very leary of him being with this woman just because she doesn't seem to have control of the kids at all.
I'm calling the transportation office today to get the scoop on where the heck Bob is and see if we can get him switched back to his route. If not, I'm just going to lay it out there that the first whiff of problems concerning the bus ride, they will be hearing from me and I will be asking him to be removed from her bus.

Jessie, Maybe things will be different this year...Jason is older, and maybe the driver realizes you have to maintain control. Sure hope so.

Jessie, That's one thing I just don't understand about school stuff in general...........when something seems to work well, they always seem to need to change it! I can't imagine that Jason was the only one having behavior issues on a bus with someone who had no desire to keep control! I know Jason has matured, and he's a great kid!!!! But, I'd be concerned that if other kids start to misbehave on a bus with wacky lady, he might be likely to join the others. Frustrating!! Susan

Spoke to the manager today. Unfortunately, Bob the bus driver has taken another route and it's not even one that is going to Jason's school.
So, we are back to being stuck with "Kathy" for now. I expressed my concerns with her manager, but said we will try it, I'm not going to press the issue right now, but just know that she will be hearing from me if there are any problems. She assured me if there is ANYTHING that comes up to call her right away and she'll take care of it. She also said if Kathy comes to her with any issues she'll nip it in the bud.
Ok, we'll just go with the flow for now and hopefully everything will be better this time around.
Oh, daddy Brian's going to have a chat with Kathy on the first day too. . . should be an interesting chat!! LOL

Awwww Jessie, I'm bummed for you! That's disappointing news, after Jason has done so well on Bob's bus. I wonder if bus drivers have to do inservicing before each school year? Annette would know...........Annette?? Help me out here! Maybe Kathy has had some inservice hours on how to control the kids and have a happy/safe bus?

Well, Jessie.. let us know how it goes. I know it does suck it's the luck of the draw every year with these bus drivers... even THEY don't know what routes they will have usually. I know our districts are like that.. they can bid on a route.. but really, we get a new driver every single year for Russell. Other then one year in EC, I've liked all his drivers. This year we have a cool gal, thank goodness!
Reece is on the typical bus.. and well, we DID get the same driver for that one.. which is good for Reece.. that would make her feel comfy and he is great with the kids!
