Do any of you use on-line shoe stores where you can find wide shoes that fit our kids? I have a terrible time finding wide children's shoes in town! Clarice doesn't want to wear shoes unless they velcro or slip on. This further limits the choices. She wants shoes she can put on herself easily. She can do buckles, but ties are still difficult for her.

I am a PAYLESS freak! There SMART FIT shoes have arch(most of them). Most all the shoes come in wide. There a really cute pair I got Courtney for her b-day there velcro... she can tie her shoes but these I got are the style here!

I can actually find some to fit Nicholas in the stores now! ;D But before that, I used to order them off the computer, Stride Rite. They had free shipping and free returns if they didn't fit.

Nike makes sneakers in wide (not all but some)....I find them at Kohls sometimes, and maybe Kohls on-line have them....we have alot of success w/ Sketchers for MM....i got her 2 cute velcro pairs this summer - they didnt say wide, but fit her feet very well. I wear wide sneakers b/c of foot problems & orthotics and I love New Balance. I can usually find several styles in wide - you might be able to find them at Children's Foot Locker. I think I had gotten Meghan wide sneaks there before. Unfortunately she doesn't fit in Stride Rite anymore good luck! laurie

I love New Balance for Russell. They even make a double wide in some styles. We had a wide pair and just found a nice double wide pair that I got for Russell... very nice indeed! Everyone does talk about Payless and they do have a decent selection of wide shoes for kids.. I just don't care for most of the boy's styles We also do Stride Rite for Russell because I can get those in wide. I can go to the store and get him sized and fit propertly. We also just bought Russell a pair of KEENS. Those are great.. they have a European footbed like a Birkenstock, which works VERY well for Russell's feet! A.

JC Pennys also has wide sizes in some of their shoes. We tried Payless for Emily but she found many of their shoes hard and uncomfortable. And her podiatrist recommends NEW BALANCE for her square and wide foot. Shoes have always been our hardest fit. Now that she can wear a 6 we have like Merrills...they are expensive but have some nice options.
