Hoping all is still in allignment for you. My son started 2nd grade today. Lots of good stuff and we had a conversation about everything that happened today. (I always get zip from him. One word answers if that much!) Also, he really likes his teacher...so hoping my allignment is piggy-backing off yours...not off-setting it!!!

That is WONDERFUL! Mornings here are like a battle ground. I never know if she will be in a good mood and will do what I ask or if I will have to fight the good fight to get her out the door and on the bus. I am so excited you had a great morning. I hope you had a run of good ones....

Yep, Hell froze over LOL I get that every once in a blue moon from Matthew 9, soon to be 10. There is usually a catch. Most times in the wee early hours, his bus picks him up @6:15 or so its HELL ON WHEELS!!! Then, he just gets up without being told and goes about his business, THEN there's the catch! When he is finished in the bathroom and I finally get a chance to brush my OWN teeth, I hear my tv channel change. No more news, Its Spongebob, geez doesn't that guy ever sleep? I come out give him that look, and he sez, WHAT... I dressed.. Look, my teeth, washed my face, hands clean...
Happy you made it to work on time! Great job Joy!!!

Amazingly enough, Joy's "self help" trends have continued. She is still getting herself out of the tub and getting dressed in the mornings, brushing teeth, combing hair, etc. And with almost everything, she is saying "I do myself." She's just all about independence suddenly. She even poured syrup on her waffle yesterday w/o spilling! We traveled to Arkansas over the weekend with my husband's parents, and she was an absolute angel. She did not have one single meltdown and she was so helpful to my MIL, who has arthritis and doesn't get around well. We rewarded her by taking her bowling and letting her buy a new stuffed animal. The part I love most is that she is so proud of herself when she accomplishes something. She lives for praise and high-fives, so we make sure to lay it on thick when she does something for herself. Keep your fingers crossed that this behavior continues, and carries through at school! Jenifer, mom to Joy Daisy
