Whoa! Didn't the moms notice the blisters??? I can't believe that three moms missed seeing blisters that a teacher could see. You may want to scrub & clip Russell's fingernails nice and short just in case!

Kevin just clipped Russell's nails last night or the night before, which is a task in itself. I am keeping an eye on him though. And yes, I don't know how it was not noticed. Unless the parents didn't know it was there yet (small amount) and/or didn't know that it WAS what is WAS. I guess if you've never had it before you may not know?

Hmmm Honestly A~ I would not know what it looks like, is it a rash like thing cause NO I would never send any child to school with any rash. Is it very obvious what it looks like??
Never seen it myself.

awwwwwwwwwww A, three boys? Which means one boy has already passed it on to two of them? I have only seen it once but once was enough to know what it looks like forever...nasty scary stuff that spreads worse than a wild fire but is oh so quickly contained. One of my poor students came in with that stuff above her lip...OMG!!! I always had thought it was just a little rash or something til I saw it. No CC, not a rash, it is hard to describe...looks like a crusty stuff you want to scrub off and if left untreated it grows and get taller too...ewww, not pretty by any standards. The pleasures of my job, learning about all sorts of pleasant rashes growths and diseases (please note the sarcasm..LOL) hugs, Robin

CC, my sis had it when she was little and I know a few people who's children have had it but mine have never had it. I've seen pics though. They are like Robin describe, they get crusty. I think Robin's version is more "colorful" but she described it well LOL

i had it on my nose when i was about seven, it started with a scratch, then all i remember it covering my nose in a big crusty scab, they were worried if it grew into my eyes it would blind me !! when it came off all my freckles were gone on my nose and never came back!!

Collin had this once...just in time for Christmas (and pictures)!!! It was terrible...all around his mouth. At first I just thought it was a bite of some kind until it started oozing yellow gunk, spreading and turning crusty. One good round of anti-biotics and it was gone!!! This like lice has nothing to do with how clean you are...it's just an infection some kids get. I even believe some kids are more susceptible to it than others. I know I had it several times as a child. The way I look at it is...there are a lot worse things in life and this is only an annoyance. Connie
