Hi all !
Some of you know I have been wrestling with my decision on Erin's school placement. I feel torn because school is not going well for her. I think she could be much more successful IF they were more willing to work with me and try some more consistency.....but they are fighting me at every request.
So....I have been looking at out of district private placements....
And....I think I find " the one"...... ;D
It is a small private school about 20 miles from here....has only preschool-fifth grade in the building and 30 kids ! Very small....her class would have 4 kids and 3 teachers ! One of the boys has the SAME diagnosis as her !! It was like watching a "boy-Erin" !! LOL
The mix of kids in the school is great....a lot of different abilites and some GREAT role models for Erin. I have met her potential teacher and the students and I can SEE HER VERY HAPPY THERE !!
I feel happy with this decision, although I was NOT happy about the fact that I had to make it at all. I thought I would be sad to leave public.....but I am excited for a new and fresh start !
We have her placement meeting on Tuesday, so will finalize details, etc then......
ANY advice and thoughts for that meeting are HIGHLY APPRECIATED !!
Thanks again all of you who have listened to me ramble, vent, worry, second--guess and whine !!
I hope that in the next few weeks I will be posting about how much she loves her new school !!
;D
