just wondering if any of your children have certain fetishes? don't know if that is correct term kyle loves to tie things up, its pretty funny but he is passionate about it. the strange thing is loren does it also so.... i wonder is this just another DS issue? i know there are diff. behaviors children have , but it is funny that the two that do this are the ones with DS ;D this makes anything with string in our home fair game- so it gets interesting

Yes, indeed! Emma loves to tie everything up, her Barbies, herself and me. It is soo funny you mentioned this. I never would have thought any other DS kid would do the same thing. Emma also loves to cut paper. She will do it for the longest time

YES!!! Collin is not a "DANGLER" but loves to tie things up and play with strings.
I honestly believe it was somewhere on the 21st chromosome. Connie

My older daughter (typical) used to tie everything up. Whenever I noticed that the dog was missing, I would find the poor thing tied up to the swingset or a bed. She was a wonderfully patient dog. I teach elementary music and there is always some kid that loves to tie their shoelaces together and then expect me to help untie them.
Hey, tying things together is probaby a great OT exercise!

When Son was younger, he took a huge roll of curling ribbon and "tied up" the entire main floor early one morning. We came downstairs and couldn't move because if we upset the ribbon, lamps, vases, pictures etc...were going to come crashing down like dominoes. We ended up getting scissors from the sewing box and cutting our way to him.
He now likes to wrap things. We have to unwrap board games to play. He wraps pieces of furniture and my particular favorite......he wrapped a trombone.

Every last one of my kids is fascinated with tying things up & tying things together. Just tonight I removed my son's belt from the handle of a basket. I'm forever finding bits of rope-like things all knotted together and tied to everything. *Sigh* It may be on the 21st, but whereever it hangs out, my kids have that one turned on Chris too

Justin is a thrower...balls, toys, video tapes, TV remotes.....anything and everything. It is very frustrating for me because he has broken so many things and I just don't have the money for new furniture to hide everything!!!!!!!!

Uno Mas is great for sharing information, but sometimes it is so great just to have a big laugh. i can see this darling little girl busting her dad and sending him to the slammer. I am still laughing. Thanks so much!

Yes, that was funny. But I thought Victoriasdad's comment on the For your UK people thread was much funnier. He wrote, "good thing shes not going to idaho .... the weather changes about every five ,, ten minutes right now its raining californians" Laughed out loud but then wondered if it were raining Californians because of some strange weather phenomenon, people fleeing wild fires, or migration patterns, or some combination of those. -- Bob

the theme from 'cops' is molly's fav (daddy is law enforcement, so we've never missed a show...UGH) she can sing it, and ALWAYS dances to it when the show comes on...when we see a man in blue?? oh yea...'bad boys' BOMB OOK! BAD BOYS...
they do NOT appreciate it! hahahaha
her obsession is closing doors....she has shut my head in the fridge AND freezer....my hand in the microwave (spilling whatever food im trying to retrieve)...and my legs in the truck door...EEK!

Haven't started tying anything around here, but definitely into the shutting of doors. Sometimes comes in handy, cause he will shut cabinet and closet doors that his older brother has left open, but sometimes a pain in the you know what, cause he will literally try to close doors on my hand/arm while I'm still trying to get something out!

The shutting of doors is a pain, quite literally, in my arms, legs, and head - "Ouch, Stevie! Wait 'til Mommy's out before shutting that!!"

Dr. Leshin just put up an abstract somewhat related to this topic www.ds-health.com/abst/a0711.htmI think they're saying that in little kids, this could be a good thing. In older kids, it's not so good when it interferes with daily activities. -- Bob

Oh and when Son was younger, he would continually untie my aprons strings. He would sneek up behind me. Drove me nuts!
