Well, we got the news on Friday that Alison's Spica cast will come off on January 4th!!! ;D ;D ;D Just another 2 weeks and 5 days!!! ;D ;D ;D
I just can't tell you guys how happy I will be to hear the sound of the cast saw. All in all Alison has weathered this whole experience amazingly well. She has just taken it in stride.
She's so funny though, all she keeps talking about is "Big band-aid off soon. I go swim in big pool in bathing suit." Looks like we'll be taking an overnight trip to Niagara Falls Canada ( a whole 25 minute drive for us ) to go to Great Wolf Lodge to indulge Alison in a day at the pool!!! Wonder if I can lose enough weight in 2 weeks to look at least passable in a bathing suit???
I've already got a CPSE meeting scheduled for Wednesday so that we can get everything set for her return to school Another thing that will make my gal VERY happy!!! She won't be able to go back until Jan 22nd because of when the next school board meeting is scheduled but that's just a minor thing at this point.

AWESOME news Barb!!! I gotta tell you........when you first told me that Alison had to be put in the cast, I felt SO bad for her AND you. I thought it would be just horrible for her. I should have known the little angel would take it all in stride! I'm sure it really has been very hard!!! But bless her heart, I'm glad she has handled it so well. I want to see pics of her swimming and having a blast in January!!!

That is sp awesome. i hope the casting worked well for her. I had tried to post on your other thread because Justin may be heading this path....but he would not be able to do spica casting due to his lung disease. His hips slip out and pop all the time....he also doesn't walk yet....just stands holding onto things. He is using a walker and goes a short distance before he poops out. I don't want surgery or the casting because of his medical propblems and am looking into other ways to help his hips. If you guys did try anything prior to casting PLEASE let me know. We finally have a phys med appt next yr in March to assess his problem.
I pray Allison's hips did well with this. BTW....let me know how the Great Wolf Lodge is.....it looks so cool. She would LOVE it. I am sure you will be just fine no matter how you look in your eyes.......you are a mom and moms have a certain right of passage!!!
