Honestly, is there something on that 21st chromosome that makes our kids good dancers? We watched Shrek 3 tonight (all of us) and when the credits were rolling, Ethan was dancing like crazy and totally cracking us up. That kid can move!!!! Victoria kept telling us to go get the video camera.
The movie was cute, and I'm no fan of the Shrek movies, but the best part was when we kept playing the credits over and over with the music up LOUD, while the kids danced, LOL!!!
I'm wondering about this whole dancing thing though, cuz I've seen A.'s young man burn up the dance floor too!

I do believe that music and dancing is a chromosome thing. Brook loves to dance (well, bob up and down and rock back and forth) and loves, loves, loves music!! All the kids I know w/ DS also love to dance and sing. Good for them eigh?!!!

Eric loves music and dancing too! I went to the Chicago National Down Syndrome Conference a few years ago and they had a dance and I swear, all the kids danced NON-STOP! They never got off the dance floor! It was so much fun to watch. So maybe it is a Chromosone thing!

I don't know, but I love it!
we had ACDS' 40th anniversary dinner dance this past Oct and I just sat and watched the guys/girls from the group homes out on the dance floor - and they were there the ENTIRE time. It was the greatest!!
Meghan loves to dance too, but she won't let us watch her - it's very strange how she picked up moms self consciousness....

Sarah's school always has a Christmas party for the entire school in the evening. They always have a DJ and my daughter tears up the dance floor all night. I think the love of dance must be on that 21st chomosome.

I don't know that you could call what Rhienne does "dancing" but he does enjoy throwing his body parts around when there is music involved. There have been times when I have wanted him for something and he will say, "Wait Mom. I dancing."

Yes!!! Emily's been dancing since she was in the inside. (Remember, Spaldine was one of my name choices?) Since birth she's always been dancing. First on her back, wiggling her hips and legs, then on to sitting and rocking side to side. Now she stands and rocks back and forth. Can't wait for the feet to kick into gear!
