Me too. Does everyone know: *You get tax credit for every mile you have to drive to all the doctors appts.. $.20 It's not much but our kids do require alot of travel time to and from docs so it does add up. P.S. Around here, everyone who goes to the doc alot like Brook and Hubby, both get this credit *Any prescription not covered by insurance gets a tax credit. *Anyone who does not have health ins. gets a tax credit after a certain amount. Here it's $800.00 Before I had the cancer insurance my out of pocket for the darn hysterectamy was WAY above that. If I think of anymore I did not remember right now, i'll post them too Every little bit helps!!!

Oh, I had to go check and I was talking business mileage, which is what I deal with at work on an (almost) daily basis... but the medical write off is different... ***************** Beginning Jan. 1, 2007, the standard mileage rates for the use of a car (including vans, pickups or panel trucks) will be: 48.5 cents per mile for business miles driven; 20 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes; and 14 cents per mile driven in service to a charitable organization. ******************** What sucks is that my husband was tracking his mileage for his business shoddy at best. And I NEVER track mine taking Russell to the hosp and doc offices. I don't ever remember to! From reading on the IRS site it looks like the medical mileage write off is above and beyond if you can claim your medical bills? Because we never hit the "mark" for medical expenses to write off. Isn't that sad... we were at the hosp 4 times last year and with my out of pocket and our insurance and co pays and meds... we STILL don't hit the medical expenses write off! I'd like to write off the mileage though! I can figure that out really quick!!! A.
