Emily's annual Valentine's Bath preparations are in gear. Marnie has sent her something to float in the tub...heart flakes I think. Candles are being purchased...and this year Hayden is helping too. It usually involves hearts stuck everywhere in the bathroom...but don't know this year. Em is pretty busy and not a lot of free time...so she may have to punt on hearts ;D This is just one of the "things" that is so totally Emily...I think I got her started years ago here. We had a fantasic master bath with a whirlpool...and lots of room for candles. The first year I bought a ton of 1.00 ones in jars at the grocery store...nice and safe and no mess either. She was about 14...and just loved the "romance" as she put it. At home she always took her jam box in and found Delilah and PillowTalk on the radio...dunno if they can get her at Katie's. Of course we have bubbles, bubbles, bubbles Wonder if somehow this year Jack Sparrow will figure into it all...a pirates bath! Will keep you posted. Lonesome mom....Jackie

Awww, Jackie, this is a cyber-hug for you. ((((((HUG)))))))
I love hearing about Emily's Valentine tradition, so post up with the details. More, more!!! As is fitting for the mom of a 2-year old, I'll be doing well just to get a shower in without the house being trashed on Valentines Day, LOL!!

When I was younger and the house overflowing with kids...I used to daydream that my day would be like the ads on tv...you know...opeing a black velvet box with a silk bow on it...and inside a lovely jewel...dinner out in a little black dress...LOL. NEVER ever happened. Flowers from time to time...Usually I was the one who came up with all the treats...for everyone... ;D Mostly Ed got home late from rounds and the kids and I celebrated without him. I DID usually make our dinner candlelight but we did tricks with the candles...like passing our fingers thru the flames...etc...not exactly romantic ;D

Well, it sounds like a wonderful tradition! I'm really jealous....Our anniversary is 2/14 and I thought that would DOUBLE the romance. HA!!! Not so much. But at least he never forgets the day!

ok...dont know about the bath yet...BUT...Em did something really cool... She did it yesterday cuz they have a ball game tonite and more or less celebrated yesterday. Katie was stressed and tired...and she grinningly said...Go up and look in your room.... Katie said she had taken the clean sheets and totally made up their bed....but...the finishing touch was the best... Don't know if you will be able to read it...but...its a piece of paper...like in hotels...when a maid signs her name for cleaning your room...and it says...."By Emily". Katie said it was Tony that saw it first and just loved it...LOL
