This is a wonderful book that I just happened to check out at the library. It is written by lorna landvik. It is about an aunt who takes care of her nephew with DS for a month while his parents are away. Just thought I'd recommened it to all you book readers!

Thanks for the recommendation, have you read "Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons" by this author? I am very close to finishing it, and have enjoyed it so far, but have to finish before I'll give it the thumbs up! Too many times I've been really enjoying a great book but then disappointed by not so great endings, know what I mean? I'll certainly look for "great mysterious" though, Ive enjoyed this one enough to pick up another by her!

Yes, I liked Angry Housewives too. It is why I picked up this new one and it just happened to have down syndrome story line. I know what you mean about bad endings, a lot of authors need help in that department.

I finished Angry Housewives (was great), went last week to the library for Great Mysterious and finished it tonight - great story! I seem to have problems with this writer's characters though, I really like them but for some reason, I have trouble remembering their names! Like who's who, you know? Maybe the names don't fit into my mental idea of the characters or something weird! I though it was just because AHEB had so many people to keep straight (memory isn't what it used to be, ha!) but I had the same issue with Great Mysterious. Still it was a great read, Thank you lexybug for the recommendation! My favorite book last year was called "The Secret Life of Bees" (authored by Sue Monk Kidd ), no DS reference, but filled with strong beautiful women to model myself after!

I loved Secret Life of Bees.........thought the characters were wonderful!!!!.....easy to conjure up mental images. I pictured the girl with a voice like Scout out of....To Kill a Mockingbird.

I just finished this book. I really enjoyed it! I am still looking for "Angry Housewives" at the library. I read another by this author called " Betty Jane's House of Curl" which was great. (at least I think it was Betty Jane), if not close enough LOL.
