Tomorrow I have an IEP addendum mtg 7:45 a.m. as I wrote in my other thread about the topics I'm discussing. What I'm wondering is, (now let me say I'm not prepared to ask)...but I'm curious as to the steps i need to go about when asking for an aid for Jelani. I'm now only starting to research the idea, and I noticed that I can answer "NO" to a majority of the questions on Arrielle's list.
Would it be appropriate to drop a hint or 2 at tomorrow's meeting that I'm suggesting Jelani needs an aid? I'm prepared for a unanimous NO from the school...but I'm just asking you all if it's appropriate or not to bring it up tomorrow?
Here's Arrielle's list again...I hope she doesn't mind all this copy/paste stuff goin on! ;D
-----------------------------------------------------------
The meeting was with the regular ed teacher, sped consultant, principal, OT, PT, Speech Therapist, Social Worker and myself. I came in with my OWN "assessment". I passed it out and asked everyone to complete it before we began the discussion. As they read it over, there were a whole lot of looks exchanged and eyebrows raised between them.
AJ got an aide.
Here's what I passed out. Keep in mind the anwers were all, "No" and "Physical" and they knew it.
