I'm seriously at a loss when it comes to his school at this time...I ask for advice and end up hearing his ST say "you know too much mommy". Great huh? Can you say...new school in Fall? This was after I expressed my concerns with Jelani's delays in communication that may be part of his APD I'm suspecting. At one time I even suspected Apraxia...but years ago. I'm just trying to help him with his obvious delays, and I'm looking to find a support group in my area too. Until the ABR is done (and hearing aids) and whatever furthur testing that's needed, I just can't seem to rest a night. It's all sorta overwhelming when combined with his obvious Sensory Integration issues. Does anyone have experience in their child being diagnosed with APD? www.aim-high.org/data/content/view/113/42/

LOL...I should take your advice! I actually have a 100* temp and need Jelani to take care of me... (I... "cross fingers" rarely get sick) so a fever is a big deal...maybe I'm trying to ignore I'm coming down with something? Typing is actually good therapy along with all you guys being so supportive! Now, if I only had the darn Tylenol pm! And you to watch Jelani before he randsacks the house!

no advice with apd-but i think i do not know what that stands for. the kids just had a wk.vacation and i did not get them in for check-ups; loren is still glassesless(is that a word)? and the school KNOWS too much,as they are the ones that seem to make us fight for everything. right now i have to go look at kindy classes for loren in the fall and i want to add an academic goal to kyles iep,the more i think about it i will look for classes for both?see you got me all thinking now. anywho good luck and wanted to add i read on another post that you wanted to visit the zoo-let me know because we are due also, and we are not too far from each other.

Oh man Dawn, sick That sucks!! If I was closer I for sure would watch Jelani What on earth does that ST mean when she says you know to much? Hmmmmm Hopefully you will find a group who will have some good anwsers Call around to other schools even and ask about their programs. The schools should even have emails for the teachers and you could write them and ask some questions.
