I had to come back and post this to just make myself feel better. I have to remember throughout all my venting and frustrated posting about his school....that these are people who are in care of my son and other children too. They didn't just walk up on this profession one day and the next day become teachers, therapists, educational experts. It took time and money and more time and experience pursuing their line of work, their field of interest, and hopefully their passion. But I only wanted to say that throughout all of this venting I do give them kudos, it's not a line of work I would have the patience to do. And I respect them because it's not an easy job teaching our kids....forget teaching, how about being in a room filled with little ones that need your help and then big ones (staff personel, principle, therapists walking in, parents calling and popping in, etc.) I just think the best way for me to feel I've gotten my point across to the teacher and staff isn't to vent like I am here...LOL....but of course to call emergency IEP's and really take the time to remember that they care for our kids alot more than I give them credit for. I just wanted to say this, because lately (Liasmom, LOL) I've become this parent from hell and I need some down time and maybe a time out in a chair or something...LOL. ;D Actually a "time-out' in the Carribean or somewhere would be nice!!!

Yeah- I used to be the MOTHER FROM HELL. The teachers hid when they saw me. They were probably as scared about IEPS as I was. I have found that it is much better to communicate before the meetings about issues, call for meetings when something comes up. And try to be calm and realistic. Most (except for Lia's speech teacher) teachers are trying to do their best. They can not possibly keep all of their kids happy, let alone us parents. Dont sweat the petty stuff and dont pet the sweaty stuff. Most of the time I get what I want for my daughter. It does not pay to make them mad. Nancy

I agree. I am always amazed that these teachers can deal everyday with the variety of children they have to teach. I try and remember they are human and are doing their best. We are on the same team.
I too would LOVE a time out in the Caribbean.

well ........not wanting to make enemies mind you, but beth and i are leaving our five kids and going to either carribean or baja california later this year, we have had a very very trying two years and we are going to try to get away for ten or eleven days if all works out, this is also our 19 wedding anniversary and we never had a honeymoon so we are going to for once be a little selfish and spend some time and money on ourselves,
