Hi Everyone! I am baaaack! I am now known as advocate4myself. Unomas wouldn't not recognize me as my former name which is really my name. When you see advocate4myself I am really Debbie. And of course I will end the message with my name. It took me a while but I figured out how to do it.
I am feeling better as each day goes by. I am as still coughing some. I guess that just comes along with whatever I have. And I stop the shots at the end of the week too. He will put me on a drug for my Osteoporosis.
I will try to get on later today.
Debbie

Welcome back Debbie! I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better. The springtime ought to help too. Are you seeing any flowers in your yard yet? That always makes me feel better, no matter what other things are going on.

Hi Debbie... I haven't seen you before and I'm new here but not really....I was away and came back after a year...but I never really had the chance to know you from way back. I saw your user name the other day "advocate4myself" and I thought, heh this is a person with a reason to advocate, other than a parent....so I pm'd you (as you know) but I also pm'd a couple others who were on line that day...I said "look" wow, a new person and with "maybe" a particular need....LOL>...I didn't know it was a you, a regular at Unomas...lololol... I kinda feel embarrassed (and you told me not to) but I still do! You know as I said in your pm that I have alot of questions, but of course I won't bombard you with them all at once ;D I hope you get over whatever it is that's making you cough...it's been the worst flu season ever for everyone in the entire country and that includes me here in Cali and my family back east....everyone got sick. I wasn't (knock on wood) but Jelani and all his classmates and most everyone I know got sick...and it lingered, went away, and then came back again with a vengeance for some. Look forward to getting to know you. Take care of yourself and hope you feel better. Dawn

I just saw this at one of your replies. I wish I could paste this on billboards across the nation. And then I remembered saying I have questions for you...but that's only natural. Sorry. I do want to know you for who you are first. I think it's alot like meeting someone who you share this common bond with, but you can't find the words to ask, out of respect that you may hurt feelings. I couldn't find the words. So I hope you feel free to just share who you are and then all my questions will be answered! I remember seeing a person with a goiter on their neck. I have hyperthyroidism and I have a small goiter so I could relate. I was afraid to approach that person and to just ask about it. I had this fear they would be offended that I "noticed". The goiter doesn't define who they are, but would this person know I understand that? lol I kept quiet. We all have our goiters ;D (ok I'm serious for whoever is laughing) Down syndrome, MDS, ADD, ASD, all the D's...just a discription of a particular piece of knowledge that is related to the biological scientific make-up of that person (and w/o a household microscope nobody can see the chromosomes)....it's not defining the persons personality, the person's redeeming qualities, the person's intelligence or self worth...just a discriptive label. I luv you're here and I'll stop chatting my mouth off ;D It's just that I've always had questions about MDS. Dawn

Debbie, glad you made it back in! I don't understand the quirks of this darn board sometimes so I appologize for the fact you didn't get back in.
