Being from the South, I truly have enjoyed all of these books, especially Siddons' Islands. I love that I've been to a lot of the places she writes about in GA. The House Next Door is one of her first books and it keeps you in suspense. It's a lot different from her more recent works.
Karon's Mitford series are just really heart-warming books and pretty funny, too. My parents-in-law live near Blowing Rock, NC where it is said the town Mitford is based on. Pretty neat!

I've been reading, A Light In The Window by Jan Karon. I wasn't sure if I would like it or not but as I began to really get into it I decided it wasn't a bad read at all. The main character is a Priest! A Priest who started dating his next door neighbor. I really liked that! Then this other rich lady tries to horn in on the Priest, Father Timonthy is his name, but he doesn't like her much. I guess she is showy with her money. Anyway, the book is pretty good. I am almost finished.
So, this book you are talking about sounding interesting.

Debbie,
Light in the Window is one of four or five books that has Father Tim in them. Check out the other ones too. You'll like them, I bet. They are heartwarming books for sure.
Have you ever read any Nicholas Sparks (Message in a Bottle, The Guardian). He is really good too.
Do you like to read alot?
