ooohh... I love this thread !
I love getting other people's recipes...you can always be sure they will be GREAT because no one would pass on a bad one ! Thanks !
I haven't decided on a recipe yet....but I wanted to add a decorating tip if you all don't mind.....
Someone mentioned wanting a "Matha Stewart" Holiday.....my favorite accessory for this year is cranberries & toule. I use the cranberries (whole and real) in vases & candle holders. Put flowers in a glass vase, fill with cranberries so you can't see the stems any more & fill with water. Top the vase of with a pretty wired ribbon ( if you want) and it is a festive, different look to a vase of flowers. The same can be done with candles....fill a glass bowl with cranberres & water & float candle in. Cranberries are VERY inexpensive & voila....instant holiday creation !
Also....the toule...it is soooo inexpensive... Walmart sells it for $1 for 3 yards...it comes in all colors.... I chose a shimmery gold and used it instead of tinsel on the tree....just cut into long strips, bunched up & entwined it through the branches.... it makes a very different look. I debated wrapping lights in it first, but wasn't sure about the lights heating the toule, etc etc.... but I have seen lights wrapped in toule before. Has anyone done that before or have any feelings about that ? I wanted to drape some over my curtain rods.
I love Christmas....my absolute favorite time of the year....keep the recipes coming....I'm going through my book now ~!
