Thanks A and Becky! Gosh, with all of the running around I've done the past few days, I totally forgot about this thread! I'm sooo sorry! Becky, the Christmas Snowballs sound good! Will have to try that one! I have my menu planned and my groceries bought...I guess I started this a little too late, huh? LOL I was just wishing I had more "ideas"...you know, like a Martha Stewart Thanksgiving or something....but we'll have a nice one, all of the same. But yeah, I make the same things every year! I hope nobody is getting tired of them... Here are a couple of my family and friends favorites, in case anyone would like to try them! They are a MUST at every holiday! Champagne Salad 8 oz cream cheese, softened 1 cup suagar cream together Add: 1 package frozen strawberries, thawed 1 can crushed pineapple 2 bananas, sliced 1 cup chopped pecans, optional Fold in Whipped Topping Freeze It is requested every year and my mom has been making this for me since I was a little girl...it's a tradition! the second one is a favorite by everyone! Broccoli Salad 1 to 2 heads of broccoli 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 1 red onion, sliced 1/2 pound bacon, fried and crumbled Dressing: 1/2 cup mayo 1/4 cup sugar 1 tablespoon vinegar Cut broccoli into small pieces and clean. In medium size bowl, put broccoli, cheese, onion and bacon. In seperate bowl, mix the dressing. Add to the broccoli mixture. Refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours before serving. It's awesome! Thanks! Staci

Have to agree we always make the same dishes every year. Dad has threatened me this year if I don't make his green bean casserole I get to sit and watch everyone else eat

Well, even though I made the same things pretty much, I did try a couple "new" items! A cranberry relish and a peanut butter pie! Found both online...just need to look around more, I guess! Jackie, green bean casserole is a favorite here, too! Gotta have it! Staci

Ok we do a cookie exchange and every year it is DEMANDED that I make Peanut Butter Balls! They are really candy but everyone loves them: 2 cups crunchy Peanut Butter 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter 3 cups confectionary sugar 3 cups Rice Krispies 12 oz. MILK chocolate morsels (I like Ghiardelli sp) 1/4 stick parrafin wax (to seal and make chocolate shiny) Wax paper Melt butter add Peanut Butter and mix. Then add confecitonary sugar then krispies. Roll into small balls (millions and millions of balls Melt wax (I do this in the microwave) add chocolate and mix till creamy - you may have to microwave a few times in between. With a slotted spoon, cover the balls in chocolate then place on the wax paper and refrigerate once they are set you can place them in a bowl - but don't tell anyone they are done or all your work will be for nothing - they'll be GONE! Also another fav is Thumbprint cookies with strawberry preserves filling!

I just found this in my Dec issue of Family Fun. It is VERY easy and thought I'd pass it along And so FESTIVE!!! All you do it take those square pretzels and place them on a cookie sheet. Then take Hershey Kisses and Hershey HUGS Kisses and place one on each. You put the cookie sheet in the oven @ 170 degrees for 5-7 minutes. (we did 6 minutes). Then you take them out and place a Holiday M&M on each and press down! That's about it! So yummy and easy! Regan did the 2nd batch all by herself actually! I also made this YUMMY coffee cake this weekend too! I do NOT like coffee cake AT ALL.. but this was SO easy and yummy looking I had to try.. it's with a yellow cake mix and CHIPS AHOY cookies!!! And a crumb topping of course! It was VERY yummy! I love Christmas.. I love to bake!!! But I am sorry to all of you that like the Green Bean Casserole LOLOL! A.

Break two leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Mix on the tuner. If the fruit gets stuck in the beater, pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sift the lemon juice, add one babblespoon of brown sugar or whatever colour you can fine. Wix mel. Grease the oven. Turn the cake pan to 350greddees. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Ok.. here is the recipe for the yummy coffee cake I mentioned in my last post. I went to a Longaberger basket party.. didn't buy any baskets LOL.. but a crock and candle thingy and this cookbook. I really only wanted this little cookbook but you had to buy something else to buy the cookbook (of course). Tree Trimming Coffee Cake 32 Chips Ahoy cookies 1 yellow cake mix 3 large eggs 1 1/3 cups water 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1/2 cup sour cream 1/2 cup chopped pecans (or walnuts will do) 1/2 cup flake coconut 1/4 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted Preheat oven to 350 deg. Lightly mist 9X13 bake pan with non stick cooking spray and dust with flour. Coarsely shop 20 cookies and set aside. Finely crush remaining 12 cookies and set aside also. (do in plastic baggies makes it easy and less messy) Combine cake mix, eggs, water, oil, and sour cream in a bowl and mix on low for 30 seconds. Increase speed to medium aqnd mix for 2 minutes. Fold in coarsely chopped cookie bits. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth top. In a separate bowl combine finely crushed cookie crumbs, pecans, coconut, brown sugar, cinnamon and melted butter. Mix until crumbly. Sprinkle on top of cake. Bake on middle rack for 40-50 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted comes out clean. Check cake after 30 minutes. If top is too dark, cover cake lightly with aluminum foil. Cool completely before cutting. Store at room temp. ************ The stuff in parenthesis I put in I also didn't use unsalted butter for my crumb topping I used my "I can't believe it's not butter" margarine. I would have used butter but didn't have any... the margarine worked just fine. I also don't melt my butter to make my crumb toppings so if you decide to cut in the butter the old fashion way instead of melting it first, it will be ok too. I also used 1/2 cup of brown sugar then a 1/4 LOL.. because I REALLY like crumb topping and wanted there to be alot. ;D Enjoy! A.

I remember a year or two ago we also exchanged the recipe for the chocolate mice I have made for years with my kids...and are so fun for kids of all ages to help make. These are the ones that are cherries with stems dipped in chocolate with almond ears. Very very easy.
In our move...I have lost lots of things...including the link to a website with great VISUAL directions.
Maybe someone could find it and post it.
These little critters on a cute Christmas plate make great teacher gifts and ones your kids feel part of.
Jackie
