Hello all;
I haven't posted for awhile...and I'm glad to be back..
had a little scare last week...While hubby and I were out enjoying a nice dinner at the olive garden I started getting sharp stabbing pains on my left side..I kinda ignored them but they got worse. By the time I got home, I was running a temp of 102...so hubby took me to the hospital. The docs thought it could possibly be gallbladder or a blood clot(yikes!), so they were going to keep me and do some tests. They also wanted to rule out heart problems so they scheduled me for a chemical stress test. Well, the stress test came back positive, much to the docs surprize, cuz all my blood work was good. They then suggested I have a heart catherization to check for blockages....unfortunately I am allergic to the dye(iodine) they inject into the vessels, so I was apprehensive. The cardiologist said they could pump me full of benadryl and prednisone to cut down on the allergic reaction. So thats what we did...I had the cath on Tuesday...it showed a small blockage in one of the branches of a main artery..about 30% blocked. Also showed some plaque build up in one of the main vessels...just the start of corornary artery disease!! but they didn't have to do angioplasty...they will treat me with medication. Boy, was I in shock!! We don't have a history of heart disease, I don't smoke, but I am overweight, and eat alot of crap!! It was quite the wake up call!! I ended up being in the hospital for one week!! Now I HAVE to make some life style changes...I don't have a choice.!
I sure did miss my Eric...he was so glad to see his momma...Makes me realize how lucky I was to find this before it became a major problem...or a full blown heart attack! They think the pain was really from my gallbladder and put me on meds for that too..
I'm just glad to be home....but now comes the hard part..loosing weight, changing eating habits, exercize, and NO stressing out! Whoo boy...wish me luck!
