Now don't laugh but at 44 I have just started driving. Was a learner bout 18/19 years ago but never got enough practice and never gained confidence and just stopped. I have always regretted it and it has made life so difficult for me, especially with all Sarah's appointments etc. But now I have taken the plunge and started again!!!! Bet you're all glad you don't live in Ireland and your roads are safe from me! Just had to share as it is such a big thing for me and I am so proud of myself. I was sooooooooo scared on my first lesson but I have a wonderful and amazing driving instructor and I have told her I want to keep her and I will treat her well, lol. Was due my last lesson today but Brenda had to cancel due to back problems (NOT my fault k) sooooo I have just been out for a short drive all by myself, legs like jelly when I got back but I DID IT!!! Look out world, HERE I COME

Good for you!!!!!!! I'm thinking the BIG achievement is that you got by for so long without driving! I don't think I would have been able to. Now the places you can go!!

ROFL Christie - it wasn't me, honest!
Thanks guys for the encouragement - it wasn't easy, driving is definitely something you should learn when you are young and fearless. My dear sister tells me there is no need to be scared - it's the other road users who should be scared! ;D

;D ;D BIG congratulations Stella!! You do deserve a big pat on the back. I know how you feel.. I was also very late to start driving lol now I wonder WHY? However one thing about starting late is that you really truly do believe all those traffic signs lol and take them seriously. WTG Stella the zoom zoom girl!!

Sarah, on hearing I was nervous, has been teaching me how to deal with other road users (experience picked up from her Dad!) - here is an example, LOL.
