Finished it...with great sorrow...hard to come to the end of a good well written book...sigh...and YES...I still give it a thumbs up.

Geez, is the word 'dysfunctional' a strong enough term for this family?!!! LOL
I'm completely amazed at how these kids ended up (with the exception of Maureen, I guess, then never really did say what she is doing now). Very interesting how intelligent these people were but their philosophy and outlook on life was so out of whack they just couldn't/wouldn't get it together. They probably could have been a little better off had the father not been a drunk, even with all of those grandiose ideas of his. However, the mother was just a complete whack job and they didn't stand a chance of a normal life with her! LOL
When I first started reading it I thought, have I read this already? Then I realized that the first story in the book was one that the author had told when she was on Oprah last year.
Good read. I give it two thumbs up!
