Thanks Susan! We were just talking (about 10 minutes ago) that I have been unable to find a Harry Potter costume for Jason. He was Harry last year as well, but the robe didn't last too long so we need another one. Speaking of costumes . . . any ideas for someone that will be almost 9 months pregnant at Halloween? Jessie

Jessie
There were some cute ideas in one of the Parenting mags...of course you'd have the bare your belly <g> When I was pg with MM I painted my belly as a big ol' Pumpkin. Cute but not original, I know. One I remember from one mag was she painted her belly as an aquarium/goldfish bowl and painted a portrait of the baby in a scuba mask, but you could do a regular goldfish bowl :-) laurie

And Susan, thanks for the link. I'm gonna check it out, having trouble finding a costume for MM. The only one she said she liked was "Princess Fiona" (from Shrek) but I'm not crazy about it. I wanted her to be an Irish step dancer, but they don't make costumes for it. And the real dresses are a fortune....Now I'm trying to find a pattern for one, but not sure I'm brave enough to attempt it. I'm not the best w/ a sewing machine!! Did Emily pick out a costume? What will she be? Love to hear about everyone's costumes! laurie
Oh, and Jessie - you can always go w/ the favorite...pregnant nun ( hope noone is offended by that, not my idea, originally!!)

LOL on the oven idea!! I love that one. I also like the pregnant nun idea, but my cousin was that last year (and she wasn't even pregnant), so that wouldn't seem very original to our crowd. Guess I could go as my old standby and be Dorothy. I've been almost-middle-aged-chunky Dorothy, so I suppose I could take it one step further and be pregnant Dorothy. I would just have to talk Brian into being the scarecrow - LOL!
Laurie - I say go for it on trying to make the outfit. You never know, you could surprise yourself! That's a very cute idea.

Marissa is going to be a "spider countess" which we bought at Target. She didn't want a home-made costume again (all of the other kids get to buy costumes wah-wah)! Cassandra is going to be a witch, with a flully ballerina-style skirt.

Hey girl, Thanks for the site. We go to an adult party that requires a costume and I can never decide what to do. Maybe this will give me an early start.
By the way.....we picked up Patick's suit at Walmart this week for about 12 bucks. He is overjoyed to be MR. INCREDIBLE and is wearing the costume to play almost every day. We are surely going to get our moneys worth out of it. ;D

I found a ballerina costume last night for MM. I tried it on her this AM and she looks adorable, if I do say so myself. I also got her a tiara w/ stones & maribou on it, which she loves. When she saw herself in the mirror, she said "I'm a princess"...which she is to me :-D I think my SIL gave me ballet slippers & leotards that will work w/ the costume IF I didn't throw them away...which knowing me, I did, since I'll need them now!
Couldn't find a pattern for the step dancer dress (except on Ebay for a fortune)...I'll think about it again for next year. laurie

Tricia! I had to laugh! That sounds like my older son. When he was 5 he got a red Power Ranger outfit to wear for Halloween. That was the "in" thing, then. That was the only store bought costume he ever had, and he would put it on EVERY day after school! We definitely got our money's worth out of that one, too!

There is a good website: www.familyfun.com .They have a lot of ideas for home made fairly easy costumes.I think they even have some ideas for costumes that incorperate strollers and wheelchairs. Hannah is going to be a butterfly this year.I found a really beautiful costume on ebay and bought it last year.Hannah loves it.Last year she was a southern Belle. She was so cute in her big hoop skirt but she hated it.I think she would have preferred to be spiderman(can you tell she is the only girl in a classroom of boys?) I am stumped for Logan this year.I really like unusual costumes but I don't sew well.I think he may be an alligator.
