Great news.... We have finally bought a house!! On the downside...we are now poor again.... But we have a roof over our heads!! It is a cosy little 4 bedroom home, built from Rammed Earth (mud brick) and Iron. The Rammed earth walls are fantastic in the way they naturally insulate, therefore in our hot climate there is no need for expensive airconditioning. Especially with wide verandahs front and back, and house being positioned to catch the breeze. It is set on just over half an acre, right on the riverbank, and as an added bonus, it has 48 mango trees!! Looks like we have now taken on the role of Mango Farmers!! We will be moving in right at the start of picking season, so we will be flat out for a while!! Some pics and a virtual tour can be seen at www.elders.com.au/branch/listing/listing.php?realist_id=190836&branch_id=310&PHPSESSID=6493d7d253bb717b7bbfc3bd1a765e8cWe are very excited, and the kids even more so because now they can have chooks and unlimited mangoes!! Anyone wanting to get away from that lousy cold US winter... you are welcome here to help pick mangoes!! I will even pay you...with mangoes...

What a gorgeous home. I live in the North East USA and we just don't have homes like yours where I live. It is so interesting to see how others live. It is beautiful and looks very peaceful and beautiful place to raise children. Congrats!!!

Wow Tammy! That's a HUGE bathroom ! We call then Chookers...but they're a sort of quial as opposed to our domestic chickens. My Uncle always raised Chookers though.
