I just called the vet, she apologized profusely that she forgot to tell us that just about every animal that steps its foot outside the doors will get fleas when it's this humid.
I haven't seen an actual flea, just their droppings. I'm heading out to get Frontline for the St. Bernard and cat. Of course we had the Iguana out yesterday, hopefully she can't get fleas too.
The vet said we don't need to do anything to the house, just put Frontline on the animals and when a flea touches them they'll die. Anyone have any experience, sure seems like I should be doing something for the house!
I'm vacumming and cleaning and washing things like a mad woman.
Where we moved from we had ticks, fleas are all new. Ish!
Thanks

Frontline is great stuff. We use it here too. But I prefer the spray for the larger animals, the drops that you put between the shoulders each month doesnt seem to cut it for our dog, but is fine for the cats. The frontline spray is more expensive, and you have to literally soak the animal with it, but it is 3 months and really seems to work better. If you amimals are flea free, you shouldnt have problems in the house. Just keep up with your normal vacuuming and cleaning. IF you do get them in the house, Flea bombs work a treat. I would guess you have them over there too... Dont panic about them... BTW... where we are... we have Fleas AND Ticks...Yuk.
