We are having low key at home dinner...because here it is IMPOSSIBLE to eat out on Valentine's Day. I am cooking a standing rib roast if Ed finishes his rounds in time...LOL...if not ...we will have it Friday. But...although today we are having temps above 70....tomorrow hearlds in rain and snow for several days...
I am hoping for flowers...but...sigh...some years they come...and some years they don't...LOL. I LOVE to paint them after the first few days...so crossing my fingers.
What will YOU be doing to celebrate?

Planning to give Lynn the cheapest, smallest box of candy I can find. She already got her Valentine's present this past weekend. Went to Best Buy and bought a new digital camera. She went from old 4 megapixel Canon powershot to new 8 megapixel Canon ELPH powershot. Charlie had tossed the old camera one too many times. I think it may have still worked, but you couldn't see the LCD viewfinder. Charlie doesn't throw things out of meanness nor anger. It's just that, if something is in his way, he nonchalantly pitches it aside. Lynn had been loading her photos of Idina Menzel's CD signing at a Borders in Syosset, NY--that was craziness from prior weekend. She left the camera connected to the computer. Charlie sat down to watch a Bob the Builder DVD. Camera must have been in his way. Think Lynn may have been the only one to get her tote bag autographed too. She'd brought along her own silver permanent marker to get that done. And hope the new camera takes better photos and that Lynn got some at Robert's Valentine's party this morning. The other afternoon Lynn heard Robert telling Charlie, no, no, not now. She asked what that was about. Robert reported that Charlie had said he wanted to play catch, toss a ball, and he didn't want to right now. Odd, 'cause Charlie's non-verbal. I had Charlie sitting on the potty last evening. Was asking him if he were finished, and was signing finished to him. Robert came over and wanted me to read a Thomas the Tank Engine flyer to him. I told him he needed to learn to read and Charlie needed to learn to talk. Robert said, Charlie can't talk. And I asked, why can't he. Robert answered, Because he's Charlie. Always a party at our house. -- Bob

DH and I are going to "chaperone" the Special Olympics Valentine's Dance with Em. Ok, ok........we're going to try and stay out of her way, while watching her have a wonderful time!!! And, if she acts like we're not welcome, we'll go out to eat. I'm hoping for NO flowers. I love them, but feel the need to save $$ for vacation! We generally just exchange cards.
