Here's one for Bob if he reads on this ....how about a Winky Dink Screen www.tvparty.com/requested2.htmlyou see at 61... I am older than most tv shows. This one came on ...on Saturday mornings and you sent away for the infamous Winky Dink Screen. It had special crayons that you drew along with right on top of the tv screen. Of course in a house with four kids...it was a perpetual conquest to own the rights of the first one to draw...I was the oldest so I usually won...but can remember wrestling my sister to the ground more than once for the rights...LOL. Back to the 70s era...toys from New Zoo Revue. Did any of you ever long to be Emmy Jo in her white go go boots...dancing with Doug and Henrietta Hippo....Katie did... ;D And how about...Three Men in a Tub...anyone have this in their nightly bath? www.thisoldtoy.com/L_FP_Set/toy-pages/100-199/142-3meninatub.html

my daughter would watch a show called "Maple Town". It was animated cartoon with all animal characters. She LOVED playing with the little characters..they came in a family (bears, bunnies, etc.) She also loved The New Kids on the Block, and had all the Dolls. My boys were into TRANSFORMERS (still around..made a comeback), and The Dukes of Hazzard. My oldest had the "General Lee" car and Boss Hogs Cadillac. My middle son, (the sensitive artistic, creative one) favorite "toy" was a wine cork I drew a face on...(yeah, thats right, a wine cork!). He called it "Corky". He slept with it, watched TV with it, and ate with it at the table. We all played along, because we didn't want to damage the young lad in any way! LOL. Thankfully, he outgrew "Corky", but he kept him in his "treasure box" forever. This is the son that also LOVED watching the painter, Bob Ross, on TV. He was fascinated with him and how he could paint any scene from a blank canvass. Because of him, Mike got to be a very good artist. AH, I'm enjoying this trip down memory lane! Thanks Jackie!

Oh my nothing can beat "Corky"....love it...LOL Emily did have "Baby Christmas"...one of those almost life size cheap baby dolls. When she was about 5 she marked up its face with black markers. And the same year when Baby Jessica was being plucked from the well and brought up with her dirty little face in front of all the cameras...we found Em in the bathroom crying and trying to scrub off Baby Christmas's little black face. Somehow later that year she also lost her head...and Em kept wheeling the body around in her stroller until David (10) at that time declared it tooooo creepy and tossed it in the dumpster much to her dismay! Colorforms Easy Bake Oven Clackers...those plastic balls on a string Tickle Bee Super Balls

Speaking of dolls...I used to play with the little Mme Alexander dolls. Now they are for collectors and fetch a tidy little price...but when I was little they came in everyday clothes and I always got at least one for my birthday.
I must have been setting myself up years ago to be a caregiver and occupational therapist...cuz all my dolls were (in those days before political correctness) "crippled"...and used my little brothers leather slippers as a wheel chair. I think I got this from watching the original version of Heidi... ;D
I call myself a "closet doll player" cuz when I started junior high my mom thought I should be acting more like a teenager and not playing with dolls. So I would come home and sneak into my closet where I sort of hid my doll playing for another year.
Only one of my kids really played with dolls...Marnie had babes (full sized Mme Alexanders) all over her room. Emily preferred Barbies...and ...ahum....Kens too...LOL.

They sure don't make toys like they used to. I miss all these toys. The popcorn pusher..annoying The dolls Allisa is talking about were a favorite of mine too. I still had one up till about 10 yrs ago when Mary hauled it to the barn to play. Can we say chicken poop! Mary and my neice both wanted one of the barbie heads for xmas. Silly but of corse they got one I could spend too much time on that site Jackie. This is a fun thread

I played with Barbies, Lincoln Logs, and FP Little People. My mom made clothes for my Barbies & my fav was a brunette like me. Other than that I was a bit unorthodox - climbed trees & read books most of the time. TV: Mr. Rogers was my all-time fav 'cause he loved me just the way I am & had cool videos showing how pasta & crayons are made.
