My foster son, Connor age 8 has been living with us for nearly 5 months and in all that time he has not been at school. He has severe learning disabilities and ASD but our local special school, which is the largest in the county, has no place for him. A week on Monday he is going to start at a special school which is a good hours drive away so will be in the transport for at least two hours every day and the cost of one year's transport to this school will be £20,000 . I am not happy about all this traveling but there is nothing I can do apart from put his name down for a place at our local special school as soon as one become available. This is the same school that Nicky attended for 16 years and I know it is a good school but I know very little about the one Connor is going to and I have only had one visit. Connor is non verbal and incontinent and he could not cope with the hustle of a regular school so that is not an option. Pauline
PS. I DO NOT PAY FOR THE TRANSPORT ;D
