Hi I used this tool to teach Olivia to write her letter and it worked beautifully. As a matter of fact her teacher taught all the kids this way after I showed her. Got it from the woodbine house math book for ds and other visual learners. Theres a whole bunch of new math books for ds which I found this morning I find that quite uplifting. Cause there wasn't much in the math dept as of the last 20 years. Woodbine house has a whole slew of new math books coming out soon. First the rhyme we taught Liv. I did it by saying the rhyme as we wrote each letter. She learned em well in na flash.
A straight line one is fun 1
Around and back on a railroad track-two two 2
Around a tree and around a tree is three 3
Down and over, then down some more this is
how you make a four. 4
Short neck, belly fat Mr five wears a hat 5
Down to a loop, a six rolls a hoop 6
Across the sky and down from heaven. That is how we make a
Seven. 7
We make an S and then don’t wait, go back up to make an
eight. 8
Make a circle then a line. That’s the way you make a nine. 9
Oh yea for #8 I just said Circle on top of a circle. She got the #8 waaaay better with that cue.. This is my last post with the exception of me coming back with the woodbine link with the math book we have and the list of bunches of new ones. K? Gotta get to school (((HUGS))) Steff
