Oh how frustrating, I just finished typing a longgggg post and then the computer froze and lost it!!!! So one more time...
First of all, sorry I have dissapeared for so long. I will respond to all the emails I missed. Hugs to you all and especially to those who have been going through rough times. I miss being on here but it has actually helped me to bond with Noah and not think of the Ds non stop. I will always need this board and this family of Uno Masers.
Noah turned 4 months on the 20th, how time flies. He is so active now, and he just babbles all day long. His cry is getting louder too ;D The day before his birthday, Noah and I had some time all alone ( which is rare). We were playing and I was really paying my full attention to him ( also I hate to say but rare). He was loving loving the attention and it made me feel so good and fall for him even harder. I was helping him to sit up, but I could feel that he wanted to do more. He bent his knees once he was sitting up and put his feet flat on the ground and pushed with all his might and he stood up with my slight help, ( just for balance). He loves to stand up and does it everytime we give the slightest push!!!! We have to hold his hands of course and pull him up but his legs are soooo strong and he is standing on his own strength.
I was so excited and proud of him I was cheering and laughing and he was smiling and laughing so hard and you could just see in his face how proud he was of himself ;D It was a beautiful moment.
Then the day after his 4 month b-day was his 1st Eval. I actually didn't cry, the ladies made me feel very comfortable and normal. Since they deal with this everyday. They really loved Noah. So I could go on for hours but you all know what they do, ask lot's of questions, then have Noah do all sorts of activities. At the end they gave him his grades.
They said anything 77 or below qualifies him for the program. Of course having Ds automatically qualifies him for the program. Noah's scored in all areas of development were over 100, can't remember exact #'s, but they were in the 115 range. Also he get's scores in age range for each area of development. His cognitive was the highest at a 10 month old's level! and the rest were at 8 months for 2 of the areas, 6 mos. for another area and 4 mos old for another, I believe that was his gross motor skills. He did so amazing, we were all crying ( well Shawn's mom, Shawn and me ).
I am trying not to think that this can and probably will all change as he gets older. I am jsut believing in the impossible in the beautiful and loving Noah. He has amazed me daily.
Noah just learns whatever we show him. We put him in one of those walker type toys and he really stand up in it on his own and plays with the toys. There is always something.
We made him grab his toes and now he can hang on to them for a long time. He doesn't grab them on his own yet though, but I know he will.
Love you all,
