Last year we used Coopertone for Babies but never put it on Brookers face. Yesterday we went to the festival for 1/2 hour or so w/ my neice and so I lathered them both up. When we got home Brooks poor little eyes were beet red and kinda swollen looking. The area around her eyes not her eye ball itself. I made sure not to get it anywhere near her eye but this still happened. I put her in the bath and she had these little red spots all over her. After about an hour after the bath the spots went away but her eyes were still red. Finally this am they were back to normal. Could she be alergic to the sunscreen? What kind of sunscreen do you guys use on your little ones? Maybe sunscreen in a stick would be better for the face? Like the lifeguards wear ya know Thanks everybody

I just LOVE the sunscreen STICK for faces........it stays right where you put it. It doesn't get wet (like in the pool) or sweaty and run into their eyes. I also put it along the part in Emily's scalp, because it tends to get burned too.

I bet it got into her eyes just from sweat...that happens to Damara too...this year I am going to try the Stick that everyone talks about. I sure hope that is better. Damara is very sensitive and she easily gets red swollen eyes...

LOL, victoriasdad!! Jennifer, there are sunscreens that are "sweatproof" and there is some research being done on a drug that will make you tan, and which has been proven to greatly diminish the likelihood of sunburn without the scary side effect possibilities of sunscreens - but it's only experimental & injectible right now... I do have hope for the future though. Meanwhile, try the stick & let us know how well it works. I'd check the ingredients on the ss too & maybe try to get something different. It could have been that the sunscreen aged badly over the winter & Brook's sensitive to that. I have heard of that sort of thing before. Maybe just something fresh will be just fine - gunny sacks really should be left as a last resort
