Monday afternoon, Joy started vomiting and has not stopped. She cannot hold down anything ... if even the slightest amount of liquid hits her tummy, she goes into reverse lunch mode. Tonight we went to the pediatrician because she was looking a little dehydrated, and he admitted her to the hospital. Now they're running a bunch of tests because they feel it might not be viral. She spent last week at camp, so they've even mentioned bacterial infection or parasite. From 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. today, she threw up nine times. I feel so bad for her, and I can't do much to comfort her except hold her hair back and cuddle with her. She is resting well now, and they got her IV in on the first try. So hopefully it will get better from here. My poor girl. Jenifer, mom to Joy Daisy

Hope she feels better soon! I've been miserable with a head cold... now I'm going to stop complaining.
Let us know how she is doing.

I hope Joy is feeling better...I've been worried since lastnite about her. I couldn't help but look up all the scarey reasons for vomiting so much like she is...and then I got more worried. So here's a brief rundown, pardon me and I hope you don't mind if I share...
*obstruction or perforation of intestine
*underlying infection of bloodstream (sepsis)
*increased pressure in brain (recent injury)
*a toxic metabolic problem
Please post back with results from the testing. This can never be easy as a parent to comfort our kids when we know they're miserable and we can't make it better. Sending hugs and prayers for you and Joy. I hope it's just a nasty food reaction or flu and that's it.

Awwwwwwww Jenifer, I'm so sorry!!! I hope they find out what is causing this, and they can help her fast!
Nothing worse than watching your little girl being so sick, and not being able to help!

Jennifer, Please, please keep us posted. Your precious Joy sounds like she is feeling miserable. I am so glad she is in the hospital and hopefully getting fluids infused in her. Is she also having loose stools? Maybe you did say and I did not see that. I know Joy is in capable hands and will get great care. I hope to see good news soon.
We live fairly close, I am in Omaha. I am moving out of the Omaha Public School districts into another area as their program has more mainstreaming and I have heard great reports regarding Dani's soon to be kindergarten. Her OPS pre-school was AWESOME and her teacher a real GEM--but it is time to move on and see how Dani does outside the special ed classroom. She is in a great typically developing daycare center. Dani adjust quite well there and the other kids have taught her a lot. As she has them. There is another precious 4 year old gal at Dani's daycare too.
You can PM too if you want. Thanks, Kim
