The Special Ed Bug.... Regan that is I've mentioned Regan wanted to do photography when she got older AND she also had a desire to teach art to kids w/spec needs....... Well, she has been doing her ESY tutoring hours for her A+ Program she enrolled in and she has seriously decided she wants to TEACH SPEC ED.... and then to photography as a hobby (help pay for college, free lance possibly kinda thing). I was ALL happy... "ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!" They put her in one room but the kids didn't have as many "needs" in the one room, 3 kids, 6 adults, she wasn't doing much, so they moved her to RUSSELL"s room!!!! The kids in his class have tons of needs, physical and mental in nature and she LOVES it. She has ALWAYS been good around people with needs even the elderly and I knew she'd be good with spec ed!!! The college she/we have had an eye on still seems to be the place even for spec ed education. She also wants me to call the HS to change one of her classes to child developement. She still will be taking photography and we agree she needs to keep up with that. It also got me thinking, of the "pay it forward" effect our siblings can have on society... that having our children w/DS could possibly produce future spec ed teachers, advocates, etc with the siblings.... so I think this is just another BONUS of DS! A.

That is terrific! I think our kid's siblings are so special....I know I was always amazed how wonderful the siblings were with all our kids when we did our summer get-togethers. Its like they have a special sense/patience/love for their brothers and sisters. And thats a beautiful quality to have.
