Mr. Chris. He leaves tomorrow for a week of sleep over camp I know everyones says its the best thing BUT I am totally stressed over this whole thing. I have already bitten Colin's head off twice today LOL Lucky for Colin, I am going away for a few days, cause this week is just not going to be good for me at all I know I know he is growing up and I have to let him do things away from me BUT YIKES he doesn't even want to go I am hoping once he is there he will have a BLAST and I pray I am the only "not happy camper" this week. Honestly this week will never go fast enough for me. I spoke with Christopher's Heart Doc Friday and he and I are both hoping that the Camp does not need to contact him. Just the thought that Chris will not understand why we left him there and when we will be back has me in I will be packing a calendar as Chris is more visual so I figured he could X off the days and I put a Happy Face on the day we pick him up. If you read, THANKS for letting me ramble. Honestly this is harder on me then I even imagined it would be. CC ~

CC, As one of the moms who told you over the years that camp is a GOOD thing, I do totally understand how concerned you are right now. And, as many years as Emily has gone to camp, I still get those feelings each time! And every single year, she has a WONDERFUL time. She always says she doesn't want to go, but then we can clearly see in her eyes when she returns that camp was a GOOD experience for her. Chris has had tons of awesome experiences; like at his summer program and the little getaways they did with him. This will be no different..........I'm sure of it! Just keep telling yourself he's ok....over and over. Try to enjoy something every single day; it will make the time go by so much faster. One thing I am always amazed by is that Emily always seems OLDER to me when she returns from camp! And, that's a good thing too.
Hugs to you. Can't wait to read all about his fun experiences when he returns!

I would be stressed out too. Damara has never been seperated from me for more than 1 night when she would sleep over Nana's... BUT....I agree that is probably harder for you than him! I'm sure he will have a wonderful time. Can't wait to hear how wonderful he does.... Damara's time is coming...we still have a little while, but at some point I too will be having this seperation issue....HUGS to you!!!

CC, I so understand how you are feeling. I had the same worries when Laura went to sleep away camp for the first time, and I still have some worries and nervousness, even though she has been going for 11 years.
I hope you can relax some and enjoy yourself, and I can't wait to hear about all of Chris' good times.

THANKS Gals for getting what I am feeling. Its bout 2 am here and I am so wide awake its silly. I am wondering if I will sleep this week at all YIKES LOL Colin and I dropped Chris off at 2 pm today and Chris as much as he said NO he did not want to go did seem to accept that he was there and when we unpacked his bags he did seem OK with it. Although he kept saying "disney tomorrow" The gal counselor that was assigned to Chris was just so darn cute ;D She is over here from England just to work at this camp for the summer and I was very impressed with her ;D We also got to talk with the nurse on charge at the time and he made me feel a little more at ease. We set up his bed, put all his clothes in the dresser, hung up the calendar along with photo of Chris Colin Kodi Lee and I from Disney World and he seem to like all that ;D He seem OK with the good bye, but he has 6 more days to go. I know I know BUT you guys have to know we don't have family and Chris has never ever been away from us except for the 2 night last year and one night this year sleep over event with his ESY. A week is a long time, well for me it is KWIM Anywho I am up and just thinking bout him and wondering and hoping he is sound asleep and doing OK. I hope I too will be able to post next weekend that all just went FABULOUS and my "Favorite Character" aka Chris is happy well, grown up a bit more and looking forward to it again next summer. I know to some of you I must sound so silly BUT I tell you sending Chris to this first time sleep away camp was and is much much harder then sending my sweet sweet Kodi Lee off to College for the first time last September and that was hard too, KWIM LOL I am one very sad sack at this moment. I hope at the end of the week I can post ALL went well and I worried for nothing ;D CC ~

Oh CC your not silly!! I would be exactly where you are if Brooker was away. Mary and Brook have never been to camp. I'm toooo freeeked out. Will they ever go? Sure they can when they are grown and all moved out LOL My neice went to outdoor school this last year and I thought i'd fall over due to worry and no sleep. She came home and told Aunt Jenn all about ALL THE SUPER FUN SHE HAD!!! I slept for two days I hear where your coming from. {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{CC}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Oh no, CC. You really should lose sleep & panic the whole week. Worry yourself sick over it I'm so glad that you can be honest on this board. (((((CC))))) I obviously have no good advise, but I did want to give you the hugs. I'm anxiously awaiting the good report next week.

CC - first of all, I commend you for actually letting him go this year! I was bound and determined to ship Jason off somewhere this year, but it didn't happen - there's always next year. LOL
I'm keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers that Chris has a wonderful time and you will have worried for no reason.
I can see how it would be very hard for you being he hasn't really stayed away from home very often. I'm betting he's having a great time, but will be really excited to see you guys at the end of the week!
Looking forward to hearing your re-cap.
Jessie
