Well, Stevie just rode away for her first day of school. She was so excited when the bus arrived that she gave a little hop-skip & said "ride duh bus!" ;D Her bus driver and her teacher are a couple of winners. They are sweet. I know that she'll be fine. I gave the whole thing a very up-beat, exciting feel for her which she took up with zeal, so there were no tears - maybe I even fooled me

You should see the cool car seats they have on that bus! I want one like that!
They have the 5 point plus an extra strap that goes across the middle. She won't be escaping from that one!

She should be on the bus right now on her way home. Still I don't expect her for more than half an hour - probably 45 minutes. Long ride! I won't be surprised to find her sleeping when she arrives home. I am anxious to read the communication notebook to read about her day

Well she's back. She has a butterfly sticker on her left arm The notebook just has a "welcome" note, but she had separate reports from the two therapists she saw today and two prizes that she'd won at the "Meet the Teacher" night - we had no idea that she'd win prizes Also, she's been invited to a "Princess Party" next weekend So all's well - as expected.

Wow, I must have missed this thread. WTG Stevie. So glad your mommy is adjusting great as you are doing so well.
I am not on here enough. How old is Stevie?
Dani started kindergartend on Thursday. She hit 8 times the first day and once the second day. Good news is her school does not agree with her IEP from the previous school district that wanted Dani to be put in a self contained classroom %100 of the time. I had to fight for 75%. We will have a new IEP meeting end of September as they feel Dani would do much better be in her main classroom then being pulled out.
Keep on going Stevie. You are such a sweetie.

Kim, Stevie turned 3 at the beginning of June. She is in a general education classroom for 3-4 year old kids with pull-outs for speech, occupational, and physical therapy (60 minutes each per week). She goes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings for 2 1/2 hours. She rides the bus both ways.
I was thrilled that our school district sends its special ed pre-schoolers to this school (rather than keeping them at the home school) because it is where Stevie has been having OT & PT for the last 2+ years! Cool. She will not have to change therapists except for speech; she and I both know and like the people and the facility well; and they are fantastic with Stevie. It's just a love-fest all around! Cool.
