Hoping that unomas can make a difference with these lawmakers....our children and ourselves are the ones whose rights these individuals are defining. If this article is correct, we have one more chance before Nov. 15th to be heard by these committee members. So, speak up! I saw two from SC, so I will be shooting off letters tomorrow. As I understand it, there are sample form letters on the NDSS site that you can use. Please take a moment and make a difference. capwiz.com/ndss/issues/alert/?alertid=5951206

PLEASE everyone, take a few minutes to do this!!!!!
It literally will only take a few moments of your time. The NDSS site has a form letter that you simply put your pertinent information in, and they have the argument already laid out for you. Passage of this in its current form could be disastrous for our kids.
Both versions of this bill eliminate the "stay put" provision that currently protects us from having our children removed from regular ed if they do something that is related to their disability. If this passes, our kids could be removed from their classes even if the behavior is not related to drugs, weapons or violence!!!! Those of you who have fought for inclusive education could find that placement in jeopardy, because districts that don't want to do inclusive education could seize upon this to get our kids out of the regular ed classrooms.
This IDEA is a disaster, and it will take aggressive action to keep this from happening. PLEASE take a moment to use Tricia's link and write a letter to your legislators, even if you are not in a state whose representative is on the committee. We CAN make a difference!

DONE!!! Thanks for bringing it to our attention. I haven't followed issues like this as my Little No-name isn't even here yet! I hope this will protect her in the future and of course anything I can do for the children I read about and for the parents I have made friends with! ;D
