Brag going on here!! ;D
For those that don't know, Mary is 14 yrs old. She started High School this week. Mary LOVES her little sister Brook ;D
First day of school:
The teacher askes if anyone knows sign language. Mary says "I do". "Great" says the teacher "Help me out here". So Mary and the teacher go down the hall where the office personal is having a hard time understanding a young girl. Mary helped them out and made a new friend. Now, in the past week Mary has helped out lots w/ this girl and her new teachers. She doesn't know alot of signs, as many as Brooker and #'s and ABC"s, but she did quite well says the principle ;D
Can we say proud momma ;D It's gets better.
Second day of school:
I get a text from Mary saying she got picked to be a helper. "Ok" mom says. Thinking to myself "Hmmm" . So I just got the whole story. There is a new girl who will be coming to Mary's school. Her parents thought it would be a good idea to have this girl find a friend and follow around w/ the friend for a few weeks before the actual move to make her more comfortable. {Mr B, the Spec Ed teacher knows Mary has a sister w/ Ds and asked Mary if she would feel comfortable hanging around w/ "K". They will be in almost all the same classes too. He tells me Mary got a big smile on her face and replied "YEA, How cool"} The girls name is "K". Did I forget to mention she has Ds ;D Mary says she is really cool and talks and signs and the two of them think its quite funny to sign silly things when no one knows what they are saying
Can we all say PROUD MOMMA HERE ;D ;D ;D I sure love my Mary!!!!!
