Here in Michigan there is a very large group (probably known nationwide) called "The Band of Angels" who publish material about Down syndrome. (The founder, Cynthia Kidder has son with Down syndrome). Anyway, the put out DVD (can't recall the name right off the top of my head) for parents that is entirely ancedotal with other parents and children with DS. Anyway, long story short (or at least shorter) there is one segment very similar to this article, with a teenage girl on the Varsity (I believe) cheer squad at her high school. Talk about inspirational. It takes this article one step further as it allows you to see the squad in action and how they incorporate helping this young lady out with performing their cheers. I'll try to remember to post the name as it is something we are hoping to include in our new parent packs.
My 16 year old daughters are both Varsity Cheerleaders, and this story definately warms my heart!
