I'm so glad you posted this! Jordan was telling me tonight that he wanted to dress up as the "Joker", and he was shocked when I informed him that he's way too old to trick or treat. He finally agreed that he'd just dress up for a party at church. He's a big guy...........can't imagine him going up to someone's door and saying "Trick or treat"!!!!!
Emily hasn't dressed up for several years and always insists on handing out the candy at our door. I sure miss dressing up all the kids!

Ok, so Jason is too old too, but I'm a sucker for the holidays and so he's dressing up! Both boys are going to be Batman and Ellie is going to be Abby Caddaby, the fairy from Sesame Street.
Me, I'm going to be Sarah Palin. If I can pull it off well I'll post a picture (a chunky version of Sarah Palin). There was instructions in the paper yesterday how she does that up-do hair style so I just need a hockey stick and I'll be all set. LOL

Are we ever too old to dress up? ?? LOL Em at 28 is of course dressing up as Jack Sparrow and will hand out the candy at the door. This year she is adding a parrot to her shoulder. Later the whole family is going to a costume party in the neighborhood. Katie was talking to me about something last night and emailed me..."whatever would we do without our pirate nanny." Jackie

Last year Elizabeth was a lobster and Tia and her friend dressed up as professional chefs and carried her around in a great big kettle. It was AWESOME. Everyone thought Elizabeth was a fake lobster until she would move, then we would hear," hey mary, (suzy, bethy, whatever) get the camera quick!" It was sooooo funny. Joby is from New Orleans so, of course, he sent his family pictures of "the crawfish boil" trio! :-)
This year Elizabeth is going to be tinkerbell and Tia is dressing up as Peter Pan and Amber as Wendy. (yes, I know they are 16 and too old to trick or treat, but they take Elizabeth around...that's their excuse) and it's so darn cute you can't say no.
I'll put up a picture.

Robert has decided that Charlie has to be James this year, because he's going to be Thomas the Tank Engine. Thomas and James are friends, I trust. And hope we won't be having any train wrecks. Robert has already been watching the pumpkin patch, thinks it's time we go back there. Maybe soon. -- Bob

I love this thread too And the pumkin patch pic is so cool!!! It would make a perfect postcard or book cover! Jelani will be Bunbop (Spongebob) I am so totally tempted to post pics of all of his Halloween costumes from age 1 to now! But I won't, that would be kinda hyjacking. ;D So I'll just post his froggy one from last year...oh and his court jester one at 3 .....and I NEED to post the one when he was a 2 year old doctor!

Dawn, your pictures are so cute of Jelani. I really like them. He is a cutie! We pass out candy and I love to do it but, we just don't have hardly any little one's come to our door. One year we had none. So we shall see what happens. I love my Snickers and M'n M's! (with peanuts of course).......Debbie

Sarah is going to be a doctor. A few weeks ago her teacher sent home an assignment. One of the questions was, "what do you want to be when you grow up?". I asked Sarah and she said, "dog". I wrote down dog and my dh had a fit. He told me to put doctor instead. I did add doctor but kept her original answer, too. ;D Since then she keeps talking about doctors so we helped her pick out a doctor costume. I was going to let her pick out anything but she wasn't really very interested. Chris ***I just wanted to add that my older daughter went to a very small Christian school. The kids in her class went trick or treating together every year. Last year was the last year they did it because they were seniors. They were a great bunch of kids. I think as long as kids (teenagers) are being polite to the home owners and let the little kids go first, it is fine for them to trick or treat. I'm glad my daughter has so many wonderful memories.***
