Thank you all for your incredible emails and messages. The doc informed us that ME surgery needs to be sooner than later. She is to get it done in the next available time slot. We would love any and all prayers. Thank you so much. Diane

I know it's really scary when your Dr tells you your child needs surgery now- we had the same situation. I was so scared but it really was the best thing for my daughter. She had the surgery at seven weeks and it was a good thing, she was in severe congestive heart failure and stopped breathing three days before her surgery. Your little girl will be such a different baby after ward. The time before my daughter's surgery seems like such a dream(bad dream) She is a totally different kid now- a happy fairly healthy six year old. Soon you will be able to look back at this as a memory. I will be thinking of you and saying a prayer.

I'm just chiming in to echo eveyone else thoughts..... My daughter (now 5) had surgery at 4 months.....they hoped to do it by 3 monhts....but she just WOULDN"T gain the weight they wanted.....they hoped to do it at 3 months -or- 10 pounds. They finally did it at 4 months and 7 pounds. It is definitley a scary feeling to give your teeny tiny baby to someone you barely know and trust that they can do this monumental thing they are about to do.....but on the flip side.....to them it is "all in a days work". Especially if you are at a childrens hopsital.....they do a handful of these surgeries a DAY.....so while to us it is the biggest deal ever......it is commonplace to them. As far as second opinions go......I was under the impresssion that SEVERAL doctors looked at her films and examined her in the hospital itself.....ME has probably had the same without your realization. Once it is past you.....you will be able to concentrate & enjoy your child.....keep us posted ! Hey Dannysmom ( I think) ...had surgery at CHildren's Boston......that's where my Erin had her surgery as well !!
