If you get through this I appreciate you
So Hurricane Ike came right up the alley to where we live. On Wednesday we left, Friday the storm came in and then Monday we were home. We evacuated to a family members home and when we started to drive home Lauren was becoming pretty ill. I had to put her in adult diapers because she could not make it to the restroom. High fever, vomiting etc. So on Friday I brought her to the doctor. The usual guy was not there and the Dr. we visited had never seen Lauren. I told her I thought Lauren had food poisoning because of various reasons. She even had blood in her stool. The Dr. said it was a virus and because I asked gave me a stool collection kit. I took it in on Sat to the lab and then Sunday went to the urgent care clinic because there was no improvement. That Dr. said she thought Lauren had strep throat. She did the culture but Lauren fought with her so it came back negative. However, she still treated her with antibiotics. On Wed. I took her back to her PCM and he was gone so I had to see another Dr. who is familiar with Lauren. She pricker her finger and the CBC was normal. Well, after 3 days of antibiotics it would be. Fast forward to yesterday and we get a call. Lauren had salmonella. By the grace of God someone put her on antibiotics or she would have been very sick. I was/am very upset about this. The 1st Dr. called to say she was sorry. I expressed the fact that Lauren has heart problems and had she become septic it could have hurt her more. I have such a problem with them not treating her aggressively.
Am I wrong for being upset about them taking a month to tell me she had Salmonella??
