Evening all;
Well, we got a note tonite from Eric's preschool teacher saying Eric has been acting "aggressively" towards the other kids...and even bit someone today!! Also, she said he is trying to "scratch" some of the kids too! This doesn't sound like Eric at all. He's just been back at school about 2 weeks. ( he had been out most of October due to frequent illness). The only meds he's on is the usual singular, flovent, and sulfatrim...and he's been on these for months. (sulfatrim we give once a day as preventitive medicine in the winter). The only other med he's on right now is Diflucan, for thrush. The only time Eric acts kinda "mean" is when he's tired...then he's cranky and does get difficult. I'm going to ask the teacher about this tomorrow. Anybody ever had this happen? If so, what questions should I ask the teacher? My hubby and I are quite upset about this....any info would be appreciated.

I've taken Diflucan. It made me nauseous. Maybe he doesn't feel well.

I would ask the teacher to ask the other kids (not the victim) what was going on when Eric pushed or bit or whatever. The kids are very perceptive and fair.
The witnesses should be asked to talk for Eric. Eric, I'm assuming, cannot clearly tell his side of the story. Once we started the advocate program for my son, we had no more incidents.
BTW, four and five year old boys can be very cruel much like 13 year old girls. (Note: not all 13 year old girls are cruel and not all four and five year old boys are cruel.) Four and five were the hardest years for my son. I noticed years later that all the boys in the neighborhood became agressive with each other once they hit four and it lasted until second semester of kindergarten. I have no idea why. Must be developmental.

WOW, my 1st thoughts too were that Eric maybe doesn't feel good. With all the meds and not being at school for a bit can really change one's mood. I hope the teacher has enough sense to get to the bottom of it from ALL points of view, not just Erics? MB suggested some good things! Maybe go with that! LOL
Good luck! Maybe it's a new form of communicaiton?
